What A Brilliant Cheat …..

 im

… these new Lili Of The Valley Cute Squares are.

I got me some just out of curiosity to be honest but I tell you peeps, they are awesome.  They cost £2 and you get 20 in each pack – 5 each of 4 different designs so they work out at 10p each and for making loads of Chrimbly cards, they are such good value and fantastic quality cos the 300gsm card is nice and sturdy.  And they’re fabulous if you like a bit of the old decoupage :)

I know they are what I am going to be using this year for sure!!!

You can see all the different cute squares here and I used ‘Bringing Gifts’ which is from the ‘Christmas Is Coming’ pack - ohh it sure is!!!

And I used it for this weeks Lili Of The Valley Thursday Challenge which is based on a Bev - alicious sketch ….

image

… and here it is.

Picture 002 copy

And this is my interpretation of it.

Picture 005 copy

I love the all the detail. I think his little cap really does looks ‘tweedy’.

As always, I’ve added a little something sparkly to highlight bits of the image, which you can just about see in this pic.

paper

The papers are mostly Pink Petticoat (natch) – I used Stripes and Gingham in ‘smoke’,  and the red spotty one was just lurking in my craft room. I decided to use that one as it matched the red on image perfectly. But I have no clues where it was from or what it is, sorry lovely peeps :(

The text is one of the  sentiment ribbons from Pink Petticoat – I am sooo loving these at the mo.

bow

The bow is a mixture of  red organza ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts (as are the self adhesive pearls),  and the red spotty satin jobby was from Hobbycraft.

Do you know, I actually went in there the other day and they had everything on my list that I wanted. Yes, I know it’s hard to believe cos there’s usually something that is out of stock!!!!

Wonders will never cease!!!!!

     Picture 004 copy

The holly leaves are also from Wild Orchid Crafts and I just added a stash button to make a berry.

Picture 003 copy

So there’s me card all done.

Well  I am still snotty and sniffly  (aren’t you just soooo glad that I shared that with you – not!!!) and I think I have a bit of a chest infection as well now so all in all I am still not 100%.

But we are getting there and thank God Ricky Ricardo hasn’t caught it – yet!! I don’t think I could cope with  another man flu episode (but he did have a flu cap the other night, just in case, bless him!!! ) And as the main culprit ie her ladyship is in residence on Friday, I hope it stays that way as well.

So on that note, I’m off. I’ll see you in the morrow with something a little Magnolia-ish.

But till then, have a great day peeps and hugs to all xxx

What WAS In That Box????? Plus Papertake Meets Pink Petticoat

Picture 003 copy

Phew, what a long title and there are LOTS of pics today so make yourselves comfy chicksters xxx

Firstly, hi lovely peeps and hope you are all OK.

I’ve been a bit lacking on the posting front due to a horrible cold that my dear little Kyla passed on to me. Well we have to take the rough with the smooth I suppose!! But before  we get to today’s card, remember my post here when I asked if you knew what was in the box?

Well I am obviously very predictable because the first peep that got it right was actually the first peep that guessed so Sonia my love, if you e-mail me I will arrange to get your flowers off to you pdq and hugest of apols for being so slooooooowww sorting it out.

Now before I do me post today I have to tell you that next week Papertake Weekly is 3!! So we are doing something a bit special so make a date in your diary to come and join us.

And today over at the challenge we have a little sketchie for you and here ….

#48

… is the very chap. It’s actually one of my faves this one

copy

And this is what I did with it.

This lovely little H&S girlie was stamped for me by my good friend who better remain nameless but she knows who she is xxx

I coloured her with Copics and I used these colours -

BV0000, BV00, BV02, E00, E21, E42, E50, R11, R20, V000, V12, V91

And of course these are available from Tracy at Dies To Die For, as is that gorgeous MS punch around the page eyelet lace punch.

paper

No guessing where these oh so pretty papers are form peeps?

Of course they are from the beautisimous Pink Petticoat and I used Stripes, Gingham and Pretty Little Hearts in ‘lovely’.

The ribbon was from my stash and the sweet little roses are from the one and only Wild Orchid Crafts

                            Picture 006 copy

Picture 005 copy

And 2 dimensional pics to finish.

OK so now I’m going to share something with you that I should have posted earlier in the week but my cold had other ideas.

Picture 005

This was the card I did for last weeks Pink Petticoat’s pretty pastels inspiration.

Picture 006

I used Wild Blossoms, Vintage Rose  and  one of the Sentiment Ribbons

Picture 007

I made the flowers using some of the solid papers which I just LOVE because they ensure that it all matches and co-ordinates beautifully.

And when you open the card up …….,

Picture 011

……. out they ‘pop’, all glittery and pretty.

This card is really easy to make and I did intend to do a little tutorial but I just haven’t felt well enough to sort it.

But here’s where you can see exactly how it’s done and it probably makes more sense than one of me tutorials would anyway!!!

So I hope that it inspires you to have a go.

I think that this card would make a lovely Christmas card if you used shades of reds and golds and made the edges more pointy so that the flowers looked more like poinsettias.

Wow this is a long post today peeps and I hope that you are still with me lol xxx I’m off now to do something nice with red, black and white ribbons and I’ll see you soon if not sooner.

Have a great day and hugs to all xxx

Pics-a-Plenty :)

im

Morning lovely peeps and hope you are OK. I am on another flyer today because there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day at the mo and I have a list as long as yer arm to get through before I collect her ladyship from school later today.

We are short on words today but not on pics as I have been taking lessons from my fabulous  Pink Petticoat teamie, Katie (that girl can really take photos!!) so there are one or two different angley shots here because I’ve been experimenting!!!!

So we have a little sketchie for you over at the  Just Magnolia challenge (plus lots of fabulous DT inspiration) and …

sketch

… here it is.

And …

Picture 002 copy

.. this is what I did with it.

This is my new Tilda which arrived last week and I coloured her with the old Copics and Glamour Dust combi. The papers are both My Minds Eye and they are from the Stomp and Bella Bella paper stacks which along with the Copics, you can get from the wonderful and very glam Tracy at Dies To Die For.

I didn't know what she looked like till she put her pic on Facebook and she is gorgeous!!!!

bloom

The blooms are of course from Wild Orchid Crafts, as are the self adhesive pearls and the stamens, which I coloured to match the image.

text

The ribbons was from my stash and the tiny tag is Pink Petticoat :)

Picture 004 copy

Picture 017 copy

Here’s the experimental pics!!!

Not as good as Katie by a mile, but I will keep practising :)

Picture 006 copy

Ahh, the usual dodgy angle pic – I can do this one lol!!!

So this (not so) little piggy is off to do the next thing on her oh so  looooong list. See you tomorow peeps with a bit more cardage, fingers crossed!!!

Have a fab day and huggiest of hugs to all xxx

Cutie Bear :)

image

Ohhhhhhh my life what a day.

It’s practically bedtime and I am only just getting my post done :(     But I hope all is well with you.

We have a bit of an animal thing going on at  Papertake Weekly today cos our theme is

Animal Magic

I have had that flamin tune in my head all day long btw and hugest apols if I’ve inflicted this on you as well.

Picture 007 copy

Now this sweet lil bear arrived at chez piggy last week and I have just been dying to ink him up -  I mean, how cute is he!!! He is of course Milton Bear and he is a  Wild Rose Studio boy. I coloured him with Copics and added a bit of Glamour Dust and Flower Soft before throwing away the paper which had the Copics colours on – what a dope!!!

You can get both the bad boys and the very sweet boy from Tracy at Dies To Die For

bow1

The bells were from my stash but that fab red organza ribbon is from Wild Orchid Crafts. I’ve had a bag of bells for a while (the tablets obviously aint working lol ) and never used them until recently. The fact that they have been buried under God knows what in my craft room and I only just found them might explain this!!!

paper

The papers are Wild Rose Studio Milton Christmas papers and that is a very old Woodware border punch which I found.  I don't  know what it’s called peeps sorry – only that it is a Woodware punch.

Picture 005 copy

Some self adhesive pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts and a Wild Rose Studio  finish it all off.

So that’s me done folks for today. I’ve been up since 5.30am so I am almost asleep, but I might well be back tomorrow with something rather pretty. But something to share before I go. If you get a sec, nip over and check out the DTDF website. It’s Tracy’s birthday today ( happy birthday chick xxx) so not only does she have loads of new stuff, but she is giving a little bit of extra discount for some lucky lovelies.

Have you seen the new nesties. Ohh I LIKE!!!!!

Have a great night and see you soon and hugs to all xxx

Friday 17 September 2010

Lacy Tilda :)

Picture 002 copy

Hi loverly peeps and hope you are all OK xxx

Firstly, I must say a huge thank you to everyone who e-mailed or left me comments about my good news yesterday. It means a lot to me, it really does :)xxx

So it’s Friday and the weekend is almost here, woohooo, so it’s Tilda time again and we have a lovely challenge for you over at the Just Magnolia blog. Our challenge today is

lace it up

and you can either just use lace somewhere or you can  take it literally and lace up your card like some of the DT girlies did. I did try to do that but you really wouldn’t have wanted to see the result!!!

Picture 003 copy

So I  played safe and used lace – paper lace to be exact (who remembers them urging Billy not to be a hero!!).

Ok enough of me giving away how old I really am and I now have visions of lots of you young bloglies sitting there scratching your heads thinking ‘what IS she talking about’!!!

And talking of golden oldies, I decided to use one of my old Tildas - it’s still one of my faves . Just for a change, I decided to paper piece her frock but the rest of her has been Copics- ed in these fab colours -

E00, E21, E35, E42. E50, R00, R11, R20, V000, V12, V95, W1, W3, W5

papers

The pretty papers are of course Pink Petticoat and I used Gingham and Stripes in ‘lovely’ It is as well, don’t you think?  I inked the edges with an old violet ink pad I happened upon in the tip that is my craft room

And you’ll notice that  Big Bertha otherwise known as the MS Deep Edger Border Punch - Flower Bed was put to good use again.

deco1

Like the chunky monkey punch, the pretty crystals are  available from Tracy at Dies To Die For  and if you get a sec, nip and see what’s new over there because there is LOTS, including some beautiful Say it in Crystals crystal and pearls. You can see them right here peeps. And there’s some great special offers on nesties as well :)

The sentiment ribbon, which his fast becoming  a real fave, is of course from Liz at Pink Petticoat. The fabric ribbon was from my stash and the pretty flower is from the one and only Wild Orchid Crafts

Picture 005 copy

So there you go peeps – all done. I’ll be back on Monday if not before and have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs to all xxxx

Thursday 16 September 2010

I’m Black & Blue …….

… from pinching myself silly!!!!

I still cannot believe it but I am part of the new Pink Petticoat Creative Team.

So all week I have been biting my hands to stop myself from shouting this from the rooftops but I managed it and today I am able to share at  last :)

OH MY LIFE!!!!

When I first started blogging, the first cards I ever put on here were made using Pink Petticoat papers (the post is here and if you think the photies are bad now, wait till you get a load of those bad boys!!!).

Over the years, I‘ve continued to be a huge fan and love the products as much now and when I first started to use them as you probably gathered cos I do use them an awful lot!!! . The colour palettes suit my style so well and there are always the solid papers there so that everything co-ordinates -  I like that.

Plus everything is always on trend and always so pretty.

profile1 copy

The card was made using Vintage Rose papers and sentiment ribbons

profile2

as were these Cutting Cafe nesting boxes.

What do you think is in them?

Leave me a comment with what you think and if you’re the first one right, I’ll send them to you  with one or two little extras :)

bloom

I’m still in ‘making decorations from punches’ mode. These are similar to the ones on the  Lili Of The Valley Thursday Challenge card but I made these a little bit differently and included a  Wild Orchid Crafts paper rose

 papers

So that’s my happy news peeps.

I have to say congrats to the other girls as well, Leann, Vicky and Katie,  and I cannot wait to meet the rest of the team throughout the rest of the week.

See you tomorrow, mmmwaaaahhhhh :) xxxxx

Silver & White Is Just Right!!!

Picture 001 copy copy

Hi peeps and hope that everyone is well xxx

This week has just flown and it’s time for another Lili Of The Valley Thursday Challenge

This week our very own Lena has done us a lovely sketch and here….

.. it is, and very nice it is too :)

I used a sweet little Lili Of The Valley angel (or Lili Of The Ballet as Kyla says!!!)

Picture 012 copy

So here’s my card.

There is hardly any colour on here apart from her face and a bit of detail and of course I used my Copics which you can get from Tracy at Dies To Die For. I sprinkled some Glamour Dust here and there  just to give it a bit of texture.

Do you like the darker backdrop?

You can see the card better I think (thanks Bev – your technical wizardry is awesome xxxx)

punch

The paper I used is Bo Bunny Peacock Lane – Ivy (it is yummy and it is here!!)

*NEW* Peacock Lane Ivy - 12 x 12

and the punch is a Big Bertha of a punch ie the MS Deep Edger Border Punch - Flower Bed.

*BACK IN STOCK* Deep Edger Border Punch - Flower Bed

Both are available from Dies To Die For.

The dotty embossed shapes were just die cuts which I ran through the Cuttlebug, swiped with an old silver ink pad and then doused in Glamour Dust.

The cat is twinkling again. She now matches the patio which is still twinkling despite the rain and the wind!!!

Picture 003 copy

The decorations were made using  large and medium EK Success Retro Flower punches and then finished off with some silver self adhesive pearls which you can get from Paul & Siri at  Wild Orchid Crafts.

Picture 015 copy

And there we are done :)

I'm on another flyer as a) I have a mountain of work to do and  b) I have a card class to prep for.

I’ll see you tomoz with something Tilda-ish. No sneak peeks today because  it is still a ‘work on progress’ !!!

Have a great day and hugs to all xxx

Pretty As A Picture :)

image

Hi lovely peeps and hope that everyone is well xxx

We have something a bit different for our challenge over at Papertake Weekly today - we have a picture for inspiration and it’s this little fella here …

Picture 8[1]

So I went with the pink, blue and lilac colours plus the parasols and came up with …..

Picture 002 copy copy

this bad boy here.

I coloured Tilda with me old Copics (which you can get from the loveliest Tracy at Dies To Die For) and discovered that they do not like the ink in my inkjet printer!!!

So the blending etc aint what it should be,  but we live and learn I guess!!

paper

These gorge and pretty papers are the Japan Papers paper stacks from Wild Rose Studio and if you get a sec, check out the website cos there’s all kinds of fabulousness on there, including projects and tips, plus loads of nice things to buy, including a verrry cute dragon :)

The die cut lace is Tilda Lace which I got from Crafts U Love.

bloom

Of course, all the lovely blooms are from Wild Orchid Crafts, as are the self adhesive pearls. I treated the 2 largest  blooms to a bit of Glimmer Mist (seeing as it’s nearly Christmas lol!!!)

Picture 004 copy

So that’s the old card and if you get a sec, nip over and see what the rest of the wonderful DT have done.

Before I go, yesterday was a bit of a momentous occasion for the Phillips clan and one little sweetie in particular because it was her first day at school. These are awful pics but I just had to share because basically I’m a soppy old Grandma and she is my one and only, bless her.

             k            Picture 016 copy

Awwww.

I was up super early to go round and see her before  she set off and I was very good and managed to not snivel until I was in the car on the way home. It’s the end of her babyhood and a new chapter in her little life. But she had a wonderful day and asked to go back there last night – a very good sign!!! I can actually remember my first day at school even though it was sooooooooooooooo long ago!! I had very shiny shoes (why that has stuck in my head I have no idea !!!), two very long plaits (just like my girl here) and the boy next door, who was a year older than me, came round and we walked to school together holding hands!!!

I never asked my Mum in later years if she had a little cry when I started school, but she probably did because it’s what Mums do. I wasn’t too bad when Nicola started school because Emma was only 6 months old so I had lots to keep me busy, even though I really filled up as she confidently walked in without so much as a backward glance at me. But when Emma started, I literally  sobbed all the way home and for most of the morning as well!! They were real snotty slobbery sobs as well which quite frankly  must have been so attractive to witness (I must have been such a treat for my kids the way I probably embarrassed them lol xx)

Mmmm, well on that note, I’m off to do some work.

Have the fabbiest of days and see you soon if not sooner and hugs to all xxx
